Methodology and data sources
This page explains where every number on the terminal comes from, how often it is updated, and how the AI analysis is produced, so you can judge how much weight to give it.
Malaysian data
- Company announcements and quarterly results: collected from the public listings on KLSE Screener, which mirror the announcements companies make on Bursa Malaysia. Updated throughout the trading day.
- Quarterly figures (revenue, net profit, EPS, dividends) are shown as reported, in RM'000 unless stated. QoQ compares net profit with the previous quarter and YoY with the same quarter a year earlier, calculated from the figures shown. When the comparison quarter is missing, QoQ is left blank and YoY uses KLSE Screener's figure only for profitable quarters. Across a loss a percentage is meaningless, so the table says Turnaround, To loss, Loss narrowed or Loss widened instead.
- IPO calendar: KLSE Screener's IPO listings; prices since listing from Yahoo Finance.
- For the official version of any announcement, always check bursamalaysia.com.
US data
- Quarterly results, insider trades (Form 4) and fund holdings (13F) come directly from SEC EDGAR filings.
- 13F holdings are filed up to 45 days after each quarter ends, so they show what a fund owned then, not today.
Prices and charts
Prices and chart data come from Yahoo Finance and may be delayed by 15 minutes or more. They are not real-time trading quotes.
How the AI analysis works
When you request an analysis, the terminal gathers recent price data and technical indicators (moving averages, RSI, MACD, volume) for the stock and asks an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) to explain what the chart shows: the trend, momentum, nearby support and resistance, and a plain-language outlook.
The AI does not know your finances, goals or risk tolerance, can misread a chart and does not know news that is not in the data it was given. Treat it as a fast first read, not a recommendation.
Errors and corrections
Data is collected automatically and can contain gaps or errors. If you spot one, email inquiry@dexterchia.com and we will correct it.
